First frost and playing fetch

Teke out early studying the early morning frost.  Vineyard area newly mowed and staked.

Treasures from the front garden.

Teke stalking the tennis ball to the left.  He was successful.

Winter is coming quickly and we're ready! We have a snow plow for the driveway and stakes to mark it if there's a blizzard.  This weekend we took advantage of the warmer weather and put the tarp down for the new vegetable plot and made room in the garage for the tractor.  All we need to do now is wait for snow.

  1. Kate,

I've been following your blog for quite awhile, and I am in awe of what you have done to breathe life back into this beautiful home!

I accidentally stumbled upon your blog while doing my genealogical research. I am a descendant of the Pearce/Pierce Family in Maryland.
Although I live in PA (at the moment) - I spend many weekends in Cecil and Kent Counties driving around visiting cemeteries and trying to break down my brick wall. My husband and I are also researching small towns in the area, as we would like to retire to Maryland. If I could one day stumble across an old ancestral home, to purchase and do just as you have done - then I would truly be home.

I would love to meet or speak with you! You can email me at Morninglorip@yahoo.com, or we could meet up on one of my trips to the area. It is my hope that in your research you may have come across something that I can find useful in my research.

Keep up the good work! I have enjoyed immensely watching your progress, love that you have stayed true to the character of the home, it is BEAUTIFUL!

  2. We are so happy to see that you are still enjoying your lovely home and that you are looking forward to winter. I half expected that you might be looking forward to summer in December :-). Here on Cape Cod we have just had our first snowfall...just in time to make a proper Christmas in New England. The holly is all decked out and we are snuggled by the fire, enjoying the season as we drink in the beauty of the place.

You surely have the energy of 3 people! A vineyard too? Can't wait to hear all about it. Wishing you peace and good health.
